Looking Ahead
It will be March tomorrow and I am anxious to begin teaching again. I look forward to sharing homemaking skills with you! As a Home Economist, it is so encouraging for me to watch the resurgence of interest in the art and science of homemaking.
I will continue to offer workshops on sourdough bread making and hope to add some new bread making workshops this year. (Yes, I am developing a gluten free sourdough workshop for those of you who have been asking.) Let me know if there is something in particular you would like to learn. If I know how, I would be thrilled to teach you.
One thing you will notice is that beginning in April of this year, the cost of my workshops will be going up. The rising cost in food, fees of other local instructors and feedback from family and friends has helped me understand that I need to increase my fees. The cost for my March food workshops will be the same. You will notice the increases (anywhere from $5 to $10 depending on the cost of supplies) in April, so please be aware of that as you look at your schedule. I will work diligently to keep my costs as low as I can because I want to be accessible to anyone.
Another bit of news is that I am very excited about is that I will be offering a few beginner sewing classes in March. This has long been a dream of mine and I finally have a classroom spot in our home! One will be hand sewing and will cover basic skills that everyone should have. Anyone who participates will leave with a completed needle book/mending kit. The supplies needed will be included in the cost of the workshop. The other will be a basic machine sewing workshop. Again, we will cover the very basics and participants will leave with a PUL lined cotton snack bag. Supplies will be provided.
I am also working on a meal planning course that I hope to introduce as a Facebook group to help me make sure I am addressing questions that other people have. My focus will be on economical and easy food preparation for healthy families. Watch for this because it will be the only time the material will be available for free.
You can find my schedule on my website middlerose.life and my Facebook page (Pamela Bream). If you are an Instagram follower I have an account there where I post about some of my learning activities under the name prbream.
Looking forward to seeing and hearing from you!
Pam
